Airborne Oil & Gas and Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. pursuing collaboration

Airborne Oil & Gas B.V. and Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. have signed a worldwide distribution agreement for the promotion and sale of Thermoplastic Composite Pipe products. The two companies will cooperate to supply TCP Products to the global oil & gas industry in a time when composite pipe is establishing itself as a technically and commercially attractive alternative to steel and conventional flexible pipe.

Digimat Users’ Meeting, 4-6 Oct. 2017, Berlin, Germany

Digimat Users’ Meeting is an annual event organised by e-Xstream engineering and will be held this year in Berlin, Germany. The conference will be all about “Predictable composites” and how one can use multi-scale material modelling to reduce cost associated with composite materials & structures while increasing performance. The conference program includes technical presentations from customers, Digimat experts and technological partners.

TCP Jumper for Anasuria Operating Company

Airborne Oil & Gas is very pleased to announce the contract award for the supply of a TCP Jumper to Anasuria Operating Company. The TCP Jumper will be installed subsea and used for gas lift. Deva Selva, Project Manager with Anasuria Operating Company, comments: "For this fast-track project we have considered various flexible jumper options. We have selected Airborne's TCP Jumper mainly for its light weight, flexibility and reduced total cost compared to alternatives".

Introducing weight coating for TCP Flowline

In flowline applications, especially in shallow water where tidal currents are strong and wave motions reach the seabed, flowlines require additional weight in order to ensure on-bottom stability (OBS). For light weight TCP this has been even more important, which prompted Airborne Oil & Gas to develop an integrated weight coating.

Recently, Airborne Oil & Gas completed a qualification program for a TCP Flowline according to the Shell Design and Engineering Practice (DEP) for Flexible Composite Pipe Systems

First qualification test results on 10 ksi carbon fibre TCP

Airborne Oil and Gas has successfully performed a series of full scale qualification tests on carbon fibre TCP. It is our first carbon fibre product for the SURF market and also our first 10 ksi product at larger diameters and temperatures up to 80 Degrees C (176 F).
With this material added to our portfolio, we are expanding our “fit for purpose” material approach, always selecting the optimal material for each application.

Installation of First Subsea High Pressure TCP on Alder

Chevron North Sea Limited announced first gas from its Alder field in November last year, with this came another milestone, operation of the world’s first permanent subsea Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP). Although TCP technology has been established for some years as an alternative to steel and flexible pipe in temporary subsea applications, no TCP had yet been installed subsea for a permanent jumper application due to the high qualification requirements.
