Dam-tot-Damloop: Running for a good cause

13 June 2018

On September 23, 2018, an enthusiastic team of sportive Airborne Oil & Gas employees will be running the legendary Dam-tot-Damloop. This is a 10-mile (16km) run from Amsterdam to Zaandam, which we will dedicate to a special purpose. We are running for those who can’t run, people with the rare disease of OI (Osteogenesis Imperfecta).

OI, also known as brittle bone disease, is a bone disorder characterized by bones that are prone to fracture. The fractures can cause acute or chronic pain and a reduced quality of life. Children with OI can break their bones like crystal. People with OI can break more than 200 times in a life time. They often cannot participate in normal activities, facing isolation in addition to all the physical pain. There is currently no cure for OI.

If you can, we’d love it if you could make a donation to help us support the
Foundation Care4BritleBones. This foundation enables much needed research for this rare disease, so that people with OI eventually will experience less pain and fractures and have a better quality of life overall. We all believe that this a perfect goal for our run.

To make a donation and to read more about the foundation, please visit our team captain Wim Schilders’ web page HERE:

We would be very grateful for your support to this cause. Your generosity is appreciated and much needed.

Many thanks!
