Oliver Kassam appointed as new CEO of Airborne Oil & Gas

The Supervisory Board of Airborne Oil & Gas (AOG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Oliver Kassam as CEO. Mr. Kassam was most recently at SBM Offshore N.V. as President and Managing Director in charge of the company’s activities in Brazil. He has over 20 years of experience in the global offshore services industry holding various senior executive roles.

Tim van Delden, Chairman of the Supervisory Board: “We are very happy to welcome Oliver Kassam to Airborne Oil & Gas. Oliver shares our vision that AOG’s Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP) will become a significant component of the subsea pipeline infrastructure, in line with the industry’s continued drive for reduction of total installed cost and life cycle cost. With Oliver’s global network and solid commitment to safety and quality, the Supervisory Board is confident that he can work with the AOG Management Team to lead the company to the next phase of growth and further success.”
Mr. Kassam began his career in the oil and gas industry with KBR in 1996. He has since worked globally with extensive experience in the North Sea, Brazil, Gulf of Mexico, Middle East, West Africa, and Asia. He spent 8 years with Subsea7 before joining SBM Offshore N.V in 2012, as part of a new management team to restructure the business. He holds an Honors Bachelors’ Degree from the University of Brighton in England. He will start his new position on July 1st 2018 and be based in IJmuiden, The Netherlands.

“In its short history, Airborne Oil & Gas has gotten the attention of our industry, developing the leading technology in TCP, as a lighter, corrosion-resistant alternative to metal pipe. I am impressed with how they have progressively built a track record in the oilfield sector, working with several major oil and gas companies around the world. It is clear to me that they have achieved this with the passion and dedication of the employees and support from its substantial and impressive shareholder base, sharing a common vision. I believe that AOG has a strong future in the oil and gas industry and I am excited to work with the rest of the Management Team to ensure this,” said Oliver Kassam, CEO of Airborne Oil & Gas.

TCP Flowline

TCP Flowline eliminates corrosion and is the lowest total installed cost solution for greenfield and brownfield applications

Airborne Oil & Gas designs and manufactures TCP Flowline products for hydrocarbon production, water, gas lift, and chemicals injection. Its non-corrosiveness, light weight, spoolability and ability to terminate in the field make it the best solution for in-field flowlines, tiebacks, single well step-outs, and (quasi) static risers.

The solid pipe structure is impervious to corrosion, resulting in outstanding performance in corrosive environments. It has an inner, fully bonded, smooth bore polymer liner that ensures the best attainable flow properties while still being piggable. The thermal performance of TCP is considerably better than that of steel (reinforced) pipe. Our end-fittings are simple and robust, relying on a well-proven mechanical clamping method. Assembly of the pipe with our end-fittings is straightforward, can be done both onshore and offshore and at any location on the pipe.

TCP Free Hanging Risers

TCP Free Hanging Risers deliver significant cost reductions compared with the traditional Lazy wave Riser solutions used in deep water harsh condition areas such as Santos Basin Brazil

Airborne Oil & Gas designs and manufactures TCP Riser products for hydrocarbon production, water and gas injection, gas lift and chemicals injection. Its light weight, good fatigue performance, non-corrosiveness and spoolability make it the best solution for Deep Water Free Hanging Risers.

Our TCP Riser is supplied in long spoolable lengths for cost-effective reel lay and lowest as-installed cost. This leads to a radical 30% saving on as-installed cost as shown in the TCP Riser business case.
