About the job
Airborne Oil & Gas is upgrading its production plant for manufacturing Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP).  You are the project manager responsible for the successful execution and completion of manufacturing improvement projects leading to increased capability, capacity and robustness in production.  The projects can range from process modifications, to equipment upgrades, to capex, to Lean improvements.
 
In this role you will manage project teams, internal stakeholders, supply chain partners, and contractors.  You will deliver projects in budget and on time, with particular attention to a sound and safe working environment, while adhering to applicable regulations and the AOG quality system.  Project success will be measured in plant productivity, equipment robustness, resources, planning and budget.
 
This role requires a hands-on mentality, a self-starter attitude, pro-active communication skills and excellent people and project management skills. You take full responsibility for scope that is allocated to you, and you are used to taking the lead and focus on objectives and results.
 
Main responsibilities

  • Clearly define scope, deliverables, resources and timelines for manufacturing engineering projects
  • Single point of responsibility for safety, budget, schedule, quality and technical integrity of the entire project scope
  • Manage and control project scope, budget, priorities and schedule to deliver on agreed milestones
  • Lead multiple projects and balance priorities through planning, execution, and leadership
  • Coach and train project team members in good project execution practices
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage supply chain partners and contractors
  • Maintain a current and documented status of project activities and appropriate project work records
  • Hand over delivered scope to operations teams
  • Ensure safe working, high work quality and consistent progress throughout each project

Skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent technical qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong planning, budgeting, organisation and project management skills
  • Strong problem solving and process troubleshooting capability
  • Ability to navigate hurdles, maintain positive momentum, and keep teams and individuals engaged
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate and connect with people of different backgrounds and education levels
  • Fully proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Projects
  • Experience in composites or pipe manufacturing is a plus
  • Good spoken Dutch is a plus

The team
You will report to the Head of Projects and lead multi-disciplinary project teams, which will be staffed from the manufacturing engineering and manufacturing development teams.
